Abstract
Ischemic bowel disease is easy to overlook due to various symptoms it shows depending on the site and the severity of the disease. It is necessary to pay attention because it often shows high mortality rate if not found on early stage. When the site of infarction is accompanied to the infiltration of blood from the lateral vessels, it is called hemorrhagic infarct, and it takes places mostly in lungs, bowels, and ovaries. Hemorrhagic infarct of the colon is caused by blood flow disorder of the mesenteric arteries or veins, though its main symptom is acute abdomen, it doesn't show characteristic clinical symptoms, and it is hard to get diagnostic findings on blood tests or simple x-rays. Ischemic colitis is the most common ischemic bowel disease but it is very difficult to get an early diagnosis which often causes delayed treatment. We report a case that has mistaken for malignant tumor on colonoscopy for evaluating the cause of anemia.
